Sometimes a person has a name that sounds right. And I suspect this is one of those times. Because Hamish Ogston sounds horrible when I say it out loud. And he sounds horrible when I read about him.
I had never heard about this person before, but he's apparently one of the wealthiest people in Britain. And he allegedly likes Asian sex workers. WION "The accusations against Ogston include trafficking, illegal employment, drug procurement, extreme exploitation, and attempts to bring sex workers into the country under false pretenses. Ogston is also accused of trying to bring Thai sex workers falsely claiming to be "bamboo basket weavers" into the country in 2022. Ogston has also been accused of paying another Thai sex worker to procure prostitutes and class-A drugs, including crystal meth and cocaine, between 2014 and 2023. Ogston's response Ogston vehemently denies these accusations, stating that they do not amount to systematic exploitation. However, potential offences include immigration, prostitution, and human trafficking laws, as well as knowingly employing adults without the right to work or controlling prostitution for gain. all carrying significant prison sentences. What does it mean? The impact of Ogston's alleged exploitation on the women involved has been severe. Some women reportedly required medical attention due to extreme sexual acts he allegedly demanded." While none of this is "proven beyond a reasonable doubt," it all sounds far too consistent, cohesive, and believable to me. Ogston doesn't say he didn't do it. He claims his behavior doesn't equal systematic exploitation. Meanwhile, if you run an internet search on his name, you will see that nobody wants his money anymore. Hopefully that means that economically vulnerable women won't have to deal with his predatory bullshit anymore. Of course there won't be prison for him just because women allegedly needed medical care after he got his rocks off. The part where he calls them "bamboo basket weavers" clinches it for me, that he finds his racist exploitation of them purely adorable. Mr. Colonialist feels 100% entitled to do as he wishes with them.

In a surprise twist, something very popular on TikTok may turn out to be terrible.
The Daily Mail "A small-town police chief famous for his TikTok clips allegedly swapped incest videos on a secret social media account and kept a trove of child pornography, court documents reveal. Joel Justice Womochil, 38, was charged with 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and 10 counts of aggravated internet trading of child pornography. *** The engaged cop's deleted secret profile's bio read: '38 w male looking 4 that special girl that was raised right and wants 2 continue the tradition. If u luv the little things In life message on Wire same name.' " Gross. Like the horrifying Isabella Scavelli tragedy, here is another story of a rape victim being attacked and traumatized twice in a row.
A 911 dispatcher in Boston happened to be watching the webcam from the southernmost point in the USA, a buoy in Key West. He saw a man dragging a woman behind the buoy in a headlock. Moments later the man emerged, fixing his pants. The woman stumbled away partially undressed. So he called the police in Key West to report what he had seen. WCVB "Citing records, WPLG also reported that other witnesses in Key West called police to report a “nude female, crying and screaming.” Officers spoke to the victim at a nearby hotel and later learned that she was raped elsewhere earlier that same night. Gasag claimed he stepped in to "rescue" her prior to driving her to the Key West landmark. Gasag was also accused of returning to the scene of the crime to tamper with evidence, WPLG reported. Gasag recently pled guilty in the case and was sentenced on Thursday to 10 years in prison and five years of probation." Did you catch that? Mr. Gasag came across a woman in distress because she had been raped. So he offered to help her, put her in his car, took her to a remote location, got her in a headlock, and raped her again. It's fun being a woman, for sure. No update on the first rapist of the night. Chris Hansen's legendary show To Catch A Predator has spawned many imitators on YouTube. The premise is simple: adults pose as minors online. They engage in explicit chats with adults and lure them to a bait house. When the adult arrives for a meet-up with a teenager, it's a camera crew and the police instead.
I enjoy watching this sort of content for obvious reasons. I don't want anyone to feel safe luring minors. I want them to always believe it's Gordon Flowers on the other side, some big hairy fat dude who delights in having you arrested for clicks. There's never, ever a child available for sex. Only that guy. I had never heard of Boopac Shakur. There are an abundance of predator hunters with shows and channels now, I really can't keep up. I'm sorry that he was killed. CNN "Lee confronted two teenagers Friday night – a 17- and 18-year-old – at a restaurant in Pontiac. He accused one of being a pedophile and punched him, according to the police news release. The teen who was punched pulled out a knife, and the other – suspected to be the 17-year-old – shot Lee several times with a pistol, according to police. He was taken to the hospital and later died of his injuries. The suspects fled but were arrested Saturday afternoon, police say. The sheriff’s office has not released their names." Chris Hansen had to stop doing TCAP because it was too legally murky. But one of the cornerstone, foundational things of the premise is to not be alone. You always have a crew of people -- and Hansen always had a house full of police with him, which obviously Shakur and the other new wave of pred catchers don't have. But you also have to have everything on tape, 100 percent of the time, in case they say you tried to punch them. This apparently happened at a popular restaurant that almost certainly has cameras that will show exactly what happened. The whole thing is tragic. Please, my dudes, never punch them. RIP Boopac, thanks for trying. If grown adult men in one of the most violent professional sports can't get helped when they get sexually abused -- and clearly they can't -- what chance do women and children stand?
AP News "“Certainly, having somebody like Kyle Beach, who was a known player, someone who was very well known, to come forward — that’s what gave him the courage,” attorney Antonio Romanucci said of his client, identified in court documents as John Doe. “People say, ‘Oh, this is a money grab’ — it’s not. I mean, ultimately, there will be hopefully some financial compensation for him. But there is no doubt that in these situations, people who have been abused sexually take time for them to come forward. And when they see that other people come forward, that gives them a path to follow.” Welcome to our world. They always say you're grabbing for money, after they ruin you financially/economically. In one of the saddest stories of the year, a young woman was murdered after reporting a sexual assault. This dear young girl, Isabella Scavelli, 17, filed a police report saying she had been sexually assaulted by an adult, Lenard White.
Here is a full report about the situation from Fox13News. After Isabella and a family member made the police report, two known gang members came to their home. Isabella answered a knock on the door. Then she and another family member were shot. The other family member survived, but Isabella did not. Four people have been charged with respect to Isabella's death. Details are in the article linked above. From that article: "When you have a 17-year-old, and this particular victim, we have every reason to believe she was not engaged in any high-risk activity. She was a good kid with a very bright future and to see her life cut short is heart-wrenching to say the least. Words cannot even express it," the sheriff said. I am also horrified by the way this girl was apparently targeted. And I still wish the sheriff could refrain from valorizing victims. Because he's inadvertently de-prioritizing and demonizing other victims. Those who do engage in high-risk activities seem to deserve it when they get raped and murdered, or don't deserve to ask for help if they do get attacked, is the logical inference. It's gross to use the unfairness of her situation, the hideous shame -- and frankly stupidity, of upgrading a rape charge to murder -- to throw other victims under the bus. She does seem like a great kid. She didn't deserve what happened to her -- and how devastating for the family members who witnessed it. But nobody deserves what happened to her. And the sheriff's statement sounds like he's not so bothered sometimes. So the FBI has been sending me press releases about their initiative about the missing indigenous women. I haven't looked into them because honestly, color me skeptical.
Osage Discussion Spotlights Positive Relationship Between FBI and Native Americans For example, I haven't seen this movie yet. I'm gearing up for it emotionally, how upsetting I'm afraid it will be. But I've seen different Native people talking about it, film people. So I believe it will be worth watching. But it just bugs me, the way the entertainment complex in America is rigged so directly with criminal justice. It's so shameless and brazen, that they have so many open secrets, so many shallow graves, and they aren't going to do shit about any of it unless it goes viral on TikTok or Martin Scorcese does a movie. This is a disturbing story, and an annoying one. On the bright side, she seems to have been caught before too much damage was done to this kid's life. She only interacted with him a few times and it was nipped in the bud. She didn't have much physical access to him. It bothers me every time adults sexually abuse children. That's a large part of why I maintain this website and blog.
As a woman I can't understand why she would want a 15-year-old boy. She's a very attractive woman who could easily get an 18 or 20-year-old man and have almost exactly the same experience, but better. Just keeping it real. And to keep it even realer, I have to say that that experience would almost certainly be frustrating and boring. Because I know people who are 15, 18, and 20 years old -- bless their hearts. It's just weird to get naked with a 15-year-old boy. He might not even have hair yet. It's a sick mind game, exactly like with male molesters. So it really annoys me, when anything like this happens, the inevitable chorus of men in the comments. I encourage you to read the YouTube comments on this video and see for yourself the victim mentality, and the pure lack of information men have about sexual violence and the way things play out in the criminal justice system in real life. They see guys occasionally getting prison time for "to Catch a Predator" type stings where there is no girl, and forget all about the many men who rape underage girls and also plea down to probation-only. Justice is extremely uneven in America. But it hardly favors women in sexual matters.
Daniel Holtzclaw is my classic example of not needing to hear the other side of the story, because someone's own version of events makes them sound guilty.
Robert DeNiro might be my new prime example, becuase holy mackerel. I never heard anything about any of this, because I really don't care about celebrity gossip, movies, or whatever. I like some of the movies he's in for obvious reasons. But yuck, good Lord. As a survivor some of this is so self-evident. The Daily Beast "While testifying last Tuesday, the actor denied her claims, calling them “nonsense.” His lawyers portrayed him as a victim of a woman scorned, alleging Robinson was looking to cause “drama and conflict.” He allowed, however, that he might have called Robinson a “bitch” and a “fucking spoiled brat” in instances where her behavior frustrated him. “I berated her,” he said. “I wasn’t abusive. I was annoyed.”" DARVO is a helpful acronym for a common tactic employed by abusive people when confronted with their bad behavior: Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. Above is a classic example. "I berated her. I called her a bitch and a fucking brat. But that wasn't abusive. I was annoyed. That's just her being a woman scorned, and also she's a thief." But then the court found that no, she wasn't a thief. This is where it all goes off the rails. "What’s more, Robinson testified, she was treated as De Niro’s “office wife,” subjected to “stereotypically female job duties” that were “inconsistent with her job title,” including scratching his back. (The actor acknowledged in court that he had made the back-scratching requests, adding, “You got me!”) While De Niro’s team claimed Robinson left Canal after “suspicions arose” over her “honesty, integrity, work ethic and motivation,” the 41-year-old said in her countersuit that she’d been forced out by De Niro over escalating tensions with his girlfriend of five years, Tiffany Chen. In emails to De Niro shown in court, Chen called Robinson “a mean, insecure, territorial girl” who had dreamed up a “demented imaginary intimacy” with him. Questioned about her emails on the stand, Chen held little back. “She’s crazy,” she said, adding at various points that Robinson was “a hot mess,” “nuts,” and “psychotic.” That last paragraph really comes across as pure projection, obvious on its face due to the context. Robinson is complaining about being treated as an "office wife." She doesn't like being asked to scratch his back, for example. Being called a bitch or spoiled brat are overly personal. What a great job she did of proving Robinson's case. She and DeNiro are perfect for each other and Robinson is well out of there. Pay the lady. Today there's an article about yet another "Karen" incident from a few years ago that I hadn't heard about. Actually I grew tired of the bandwagon and began ignoring it, when it became clear that "Karen" is America's new favorite form of bullying.
Oh, I can hear you balking! "No, Karen is the bully! Everybody knows that" Let me ask you, what other demographic has a stereotype nickname based on the combination of their race/gender, that people on the left are comfortable calling them? What makes white women different from every other two-legged critter, that it's cool to single us out this way? And why are people from every other demographic relabeled white women (Karen) when they act out in public? Why do adult Black women who go crazy on white teenage fast-food workers get called "Karen"? Why is there "male Karen" instead of "Kevin"? When I was growing up, my Black friends taught me that there were only two rules I needed to know about their community, how not to give offense. But those two rules no longer apply at all, at least for white women. It used to be:
Today's round of buttholery, from The Daily Beast: "The internet might have labeled Abigail Elphick “Victoria’s Secret Karen” in 2021, but according to a new report from The New York Times, the real story is more complicated." I have to laugh a the pitiful dumbfuckery of the entire premise. I laugh so I won't cry at how mean and stupid the world is. All of this should have been really obvious with a quarter teaspoon of critical thinking, which the entire internet couldn't muster at the time. At least the other women in the store at the time tried to be nice about it, tried to help Ms. Elphick. That's obvious in the part of the video I watched. "Two years ago, Ijeoma Ukenta, who is Black, posted a video to her YouTube channel with the title “Karen Goes Crazy Part 1.” At the start of the video, Elphick, who is white, seems to be reaching for Ukenta’s phone as she films. She then sinks to the floor in tears, covering her face and denying Ukenta’s claims that she’d tried to hit her. Passersby in the store remain silent while Elphick begs, “Don’t record my mental breakdown—please, please, please.” The video has netted 2.6 million views on YouTube." There are times when the person's own side of the story makes them sound guilty, like the Daniel Holtzclaw interrogation. And this is another one. Ms. Ukenta is, in my opinion, an attention-seeking bully who initiated a confrontation and successfully framed herself as the victim -- for the time being. She hit the fame-whore jackpot because Ms. Elphick happens to be a person with mental health special needs, who lives in special housing for that reason. She was especially unprepared for this race-baiting troll. Remember a few years ago when rapper 50 Cent chased a guy through an airport,, recording him, calling him names and antagonizing him? Turned out the guy was some autistic airport employee, minding his own business, doing his job. 50 Cent thought he looked like he was on drugs and started harassing him on social media. This incident is almost exactly like that, except 50 Cent was already famous, and Ms. Ukenta wasn't until this happened. The whole issue arose when the two women were shopping at the same store. Ukenta said, "Back up" in that super polite and not at all Karen-y way to Elphick, who didn't leap out of her majesty's path quickly enough. So the horribly injured Ms. Ukenta began filming the "Karen" who was actually just shopping at a store, standing closer than this person wanted her to be. Because Elphick is a special-needs person, she didn't handle being trolled and race-baited well. She started grabbing at the phone, hoping not to be recorded in a viral incident as a so-called racist and lose her home and job. Which is of course what this mega-twat was dreaming of, her ultimate goal of viral fame, and why I hope Ms. Elphick ruins her in court. It was all just a giant power trip against a disabled person who didn't call her the N-word or anything else, just standing there while white woman, her worst fears of TikTok infamy waiting to be realized. Ms. Elphick is distressed because she hadn't intended anything racist at all; she interpreted "Back up" as a threat -- as would I. I would love to have Ms. Ukenta simply tell me to "back up" in a public space so I could invite her to "Make me." Seriously your majesty, make me. Pull your phone out and back me up, and let's see how it goes. No charges were filed, because guess what? Nothing happened. This was yet another person who appears to have a Cluster B personality disorder, manipulating a situation so that she seems to be a victim for a huge amount of support and financial compensation. Ukenta was outraged when TikTok took her videos down for bullying -- which should have been a clue. She was outraged because the videos were left up on someone else's channel and not her own. Elphick is seen in the video sitting on the floor begging not to have her mental breakdown videotaped. Other shoppers are trying to calm her, while Ms. Ukenta continues goading her, as the other shoppers ask her to just go away and stop it. Ukenta maintains a running monologue about how she needs the video because the police are definitely going to believe "her white ass over my Black ass," whatever that means. Ma'am, nothing actually happened except you were rude and upset a disabled lady. Then you called 911. How anyone could possibly imagine Ms. Ukenta as the victim here is beyond me. The deal with "Karen" is that she's allegedly the aggressor, right? Who started the confrontation in the first place? Who called the people with guns over nothing, because they didn't like people of another race being in the same public space Who's the power-tripping bully in this scenario because she wants attention from her racist extended community? When I lived in Long Beach I learned to speak only when spoken to. And that wasn't even enough to avoid the "reverse Karen." That's when someone can't do some perfectly normal function of life because of the skin I'm in. For example, I learned that if I get on the bus or train with my walker, and people don't get out of the wheelchair seats, not to ask for them. If I have to ask for the wheelchair seats, the answer will be very much no, no with extreme prejudice. To be fair, that's not only with African-Americans. But I did learn to regret breaking the "speak only when spoken to" rule with that community in Long Beach. If people are going to give me the seats, they just will when they see me get on. Don't ask or it will be a major "Karen" type freakout. I had to get back off the bus to end the tirade more than once, from someone with their cargo or e-scooter or whatever in the wheelchair seats. I had people shove my walker into my legs, demand that I move it so they could sit there, or shove it out of the seats and into the aisle (where it can't be for the ride, so I'd have to get out of my seat and stand up with it). Another example, I was sitting in McDonalds playing a game on my tablet. I had finished eating and was finishing up my game. I saw something move in my peripheral vision, so I briefly jerked my head. I saw that someone had sat down at the table behind me. But I was still playing, so I didn't look long enough to see who it was, only that someone sat down there. Less than 60 seconds later my game was over. So I picked up my stuff to clear my table. While I was tidying up, I began to hear the person behind me grumbling: razza frazza razza frazza. Okay, well, LA County is the world's biggest free-range psych ward. What's new? At first I thought nothing of it. But then I heard him mumble, "Can't even sit next to a Black man!" So I looked up at him and realized he was glaring at me. That's right! He was quite sure he had been Karened, that I was leaving because he sat down. So I explained to him that no, I was finished eating and had just finished up my game. I didn't even see exactly who had sat down. Really I jerked my head back too quickly to register exactly who it was that sat there. The man accepted that explanation and we had a brief discussion; neither of us was mad about it. But people don't necessarily wait until Karen actually does or says anything bad, they just become offended and lose it. That was only one of many times I got reverse Karened. In Long Beach, Karen doesn't have to do anything but be white in a scenario to piss people off. I got called racist for asking people not to park on the sidewalk. I got called a bitch for standing in line at the taco stand. I got threatened with being hit by a car for crossing with the light when some lady wanted to turn right on red. I would stand on the bus with my walker while grown-ass men slouched in the wheelchair seats, all the time. I'm not saying this makes me special. America is full of racists who talk all kinds of racist bullshit. I'm just saying not all of them are white. And a lot of them feel intensely victimized by Karen, because the wind blew while she was breathing. I know, I know, that was all about me for sure. And yet magically when I moved to a different part of the country -- one that didn't experience eight weeks of race rioting after George Floyd was murdered -- I no longer have to speak only when spoken to. Overnight, Black people became nice again when I moved, go figure. Back to the butthole du jour. Ms. Ukenta claims that during that incident she was treated like this was the 1920s. I wish someone would insist that she describe specific ways that she was treated like she was in the Jim Crow era when that disabled white woman didn't leap out of her way upon command, and then wasn't arrested for having a panic attack while being exploited for viral fame. I hope they make Ms. Ukenta be specific. Unfortunately civil depositions aren't public record so I probably won't get access. My family arrived here in the 1920s. During the 1920s my Italian cohort were also getting lynched and being placed in detention camps. Our word for it is "linciati." I'm not going to get into the price my family paid to immigrate here, because it's too painful and frankly too many African-Americans have shit all over it when I've tried. I really hope Ms. Elphick wins a judgment against Ms. Ukenta such that Ukenta has nothing left to wear but discarded potato chip bags, that she has to scrounge for grass and leaves to eat for the rest of her worthless life. I think I'm going to stop capitalizing Black when referring to people after this post. I've been doing it most of the time because I'm aware that a lot of people prefer that. But really, it doesn't make any sense grammatically. It's just a hoop that people want others to jump through. And I'm not sure it's healthy to constantly jump through people's hoops simply because they are black and I am white. At this point I don't believe it's good for anyone, speaking as someone who grew up in a toxic family and had to learn to set limits with people. |
