Teacher and Father Charged in Alleged Rape of Missouri Teen

• I'm glad this is being reported on more.  I'm convinced that it's always been a problem.   It's finally being taken more seriously now for some reason, and reported on.  The media very much curates what social ills they want to prioritize.  But it doesn't change what's actually happening, if you know what I mean.  The fact that it's getting so much coverage lately can only be a step in the right direction.  This and the trend of arresting teachers who show up drunk.  Maybe they're finally getting serious about school security, what with all the bang bang boom boom in America.
  
• This particular report is one of the few  on this topic that doesn't have me wanting to pull my hair out.  This commentator is a rare talking head who can discuss this in a way that I felt good about.  The boy's father is being charged because he allegedly sanctioned and assisted the teacher's abuse of his son.  Female sexual abuse of male children gets excused because so many men fantasize about it, basically.  People don't think about the difference between fantasies and real experiences. 
  
• For example, I saw some headline about "Mary Kay LeTorneau's ex" not appreciating the movie about him.  Well, he should IMHO more correctly be referred to as her survivor.  The man whose life she hijacked in his childhood, before he knew what hit him.  There's nothing cute or sexy about what she did there.  It's like with Rudy Farias' mother, and him not necessarily being able to just walk away from her the day he turned 18.  Turning 18 doesn't magically break you free of your childhood bullies, the people who started warping your mind in childhood.
  
• The double standard in prosecuting female-on-male child sexual abuse exists because of men like this child's father, who think it's a fantasy  he's living out and a dream come true, instead of him being manipulated by a sick adult -- which is what every woman I know thinks it is.  Men often squawk about a double standard in play, as if women get away with sex crimes because women want it that way.  I don't know any woman who isn't disgusted by this.  I stopped watching Curb Your Enthusiasm when they did an episode about how hot it is for boys to have sex with female teachers.  No. 
  
• As much as I abhor sexual abuse of young girls by men, at least I can understand it.  They more closely resemble adult women, can more easily stand in the sexual role of a proper adult woman.  But a teenage boy can in no way pass for an adult man. Adult, sexually mature women know this.  It only underscores the true sickness of pedophilia, that it has nothing to do with sex, only power and control.
  
• This individual is of course Innocent Until Proven Guilty In A Court Of Law.  Other students allege that they acted as lookouts while she and the other student had sex.  There are allegedly text messages to that effect.  The teacher fled to Texas after the students came forward. IUPGIACOL
